Beds, shrubs, trees, sod, drainage and stone work for Sherman homes, from the older streets near downtown to the new builds off FM 1417. We’re a veteran-owned crew based in Denison.
Sherman is on our regular route, 15 to 20 minutes from our shop in Denison. We plan and install beds, shrubs, trees, sod, drainage and stone work, and because Sherman is in our full-service area, we can keep it mowed and maintained after the install.
Sherman landscaping requests we’ve had this year include a bed cleanup with new mulch and a back yard redo, and pet-friendly turf behind a new D.R. Horton home.
We work anywhere in Sherman, including the newer neighborhoods like Heritage Ranch and The Hills of Sherman off FM 1417.
Older homes. Beds that have gone to weeds, shrubs that have grown past the windows, and shade that has thinned out the grass. We clear it out, replant for the sun the yard actually gets, and finish with fresh mulch and a clean edge.
New builds. Sherman requires two shade trees in the front yard before a new home gets its certificate of occupancy, and at least 55% of the front lot width has to be planted landscape. That’s often where the builder’s work ends. We add the beds, sod or turf for the back yard, and drainage where the grading left low spots.
A plan for your Sherman home, your light and your budget: where the beds go, what gets planted and how it all connects.
Foundation plantings, borders, and shade trees chosen for North Texas heat and clay.
Fresh-cut Bermuda, Zoysia, or St. Augustine, professionally graded and installed.
French drains and grading so water runs away from the house instead of pooling next to it.
Clean edging and fresh mulch that pull the whole landscape together.
Flagstone patios and walkways, stone bed borders and retaining walls, and river-rock beds built with the landscape.
Whole-yard makeovers, planned together so the beds, grass, stone and drainage work as one.
We walk your Sherman property, talk through what you want, and put a plan and price in writing before any work starts.
We correct grade and amend the Blackland clay so plantings and sod actually establish.
Beds, plants, trees, sod, and drainage go in clean and in the right order.
Mulch, edging, and a clear plan to keep it healthy through the first season.
Clay. About three quarters of the soil mapped around Sherman is in the USDA’s slowest-draining class, and the Fairlie clay found across much of town was first described right here in Grayson County. It cracks wide open in August and holds water after a rain. We grade before planting, and we look at drainage first on any yard that stays wet. May and October are Sherman’s wettest months, so that’s when problems show up.
Tree choices. Emerald ash borer was confirmed in Grayson County in 2024 and kills infested ash trees within a few years, so we don’t recommend planting ash here.
HOA rules. Some Sherman HOAs spell out the landscaping. The Preston Club Legends covenants, for example, call for beds at least 24 inches wide across the front of the house, 3 inches of hardwood mulch and a metal, rock, brick or concrete edge. Send us your HOA’s rules and we’ll plan to them.
After the install. Sherman is in our full-service area, so we can keep the new landscape mowed, trimmed and mulched on a regular schedule.
Tell us roughly where in Sherman you are and what you’re picturing. We’ll come look and put a plan and price in writing.

It depends on the size of the job. A bed cleanup with fresh mulch is a very different price from a full back yard with sod and drainage. We look at the yard and quote it in writing, and bigger projects can be done in phases.
Yes. Sherman is in our full-service area, so after the install we can mow and keep the beds up on a regular schedule.
Yes. We redo beds and plantings around older Sherman homes, and we finish new-build yards, including back yards the builder left with just sod or bare dirt.
Yes. Even under Stage 2 of the city's drought plan, hand watering and drip lines are allowed any day. Sprinklers are the part that's limited to two days a week by address.
